The move comes after the drugmaker announced plans to sell its erectile dysfunction medicine to the public in a deal valued at $1 billion in 2013.

Viagra’s sales have been declining since its launch in 1998, but it’s one of the company’s top sellers, with nearly $10 billion in annual sales.
As a result, Viagra’s generic drug has been significantly more expensive, with analysts estimating its price could be as much as 70 percent lower than its branded version.
“The pricing may be too good to be true,” said John Lechleiter, analyst at New York-based Miller Tablaco.
“However, Viagra remains a popular choice among men who need to improve their sexual performance and remain satisfied with their health.
“The pricing may be too good to be true, however,” he added.
Viagra, which is still available in the United States, is among the world’s top-selling drugs, and it could hit the market in the future. Pfizer Inc. has a sales force of more than 300,000, said Pfizer spokeswoman Christine Cramer.
